Andrus (Andy) M. Payne Collection of Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad Images
This collection is from the late Andrus (Andy) M. Payne (1925-2012) who was a narrow gauge engineer who worked out of Durango on the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad. His 2,270 8"x10" photographs were taken from 1954 through 1978. These photographs are sorted into nine volumes.
A group of dedicated volunteers from the Friends have organized, catalogued, reviewed and scanned the originals into a dedicated computer system. A searchable database has been compiled which will allow retrieval of desired photographs. The original photos are in permanent, archival storage.
The database for the Payne photographs is being updated and corrected as needed. The pdf catalogs created from the database are being recreated and the date of the database is listed on the first page of each catalog. The most current data can be found in the the spreadsheet data which is both in Excel format and comma-separated-variable format. As of November 21, 2016, all of the Payne Catalogs have been created and uploaded to this WEB site.
